About Us

We started raising Jersey Woolies in 1998 when my daughter Anna joined the rabbit project in 4-H.   She no longer shows rabbits, and I have inherited a few of her show animals and have purchased a few to go with them.

I began raising and showing rabbits when I was a kid in 4-H, which seems like a lifetime ago.  It is a hobby that has brought a great deal of fun and enjoyment, and most importantly has brought friendships and an outlet for day-to-day stress.  You just can't be up-tight when you are holding a baby bunny....  :)

I was recently voted in as Director for District Three of the National Jersey Wooly Club (covering Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin).  I encourage members of these states to contact me if I can help in any way, and to let me know of show wins that can be listed in the national newsletter.

We have a small barn to house our Woolies.   It is only 10 x 16, but easily houses most of the herd.  They are kept in two rows of stacking cages.  Lots of windows provide light, a ceiling fan aids ventilation, and a linoleum floor makes clean-up and sanitation easy.  A double base cabinet with countertop gives us a nice storage/work area.  Add plenty of good lighting, a heater, and the radio on our favorite station, and it's very easy to spend hours out there just playing with the bunnies!  Each one is named, loved, and spoiled...  Especially all the new BABIES!
